The library is written in C# for the best performance but you can use it with GDScript! calling C# code from GDScript.

In short, EasyTile loads tmx (Tiled) files and takes the tilemaps defined in Tiled to Godot's TileMap node at runtime, the library includes functions to create animations through the TileMap node, as seen in 8-bit consoles like Nes or Master System.

-EasyTile is not a replacement for Godot's tile editor, the library relies on some Tiled functions but you will not be able, among other things, to define collision boxes with EasyTile, the library is not designed for that type of functionality so for that you must continue using the Godot editor.
-If you are a user of the Tiled Map Importer plugin, you will be able to continue using it as EasyTile offers different functionality and at runtime, unlike Tiled Map Importer.
-EasyTile aims to facilitate the handling of Godot's TileMap node when printing multi-tile areas or creating retro-type animations (such as the castle that you will see later) through the TileMap node.

I don't think you can say that your video game is retro style just because you use pixelart graphics... the technology under the hood should also work or imitate the retro style.
